Mechanical Fitter / Hydraulic Technician | Rutherglen,(with optional UK travel) | £35,000 - £42,000 | Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:00am - 4:30pm | Friday 8:00am - 1:00pm

Would suit ex Forces, in particular ex-Navy candidates.

Overview:

An established engineering firm based in Rutherglen is looking to hire a skilled Hydraulic Technician to join their experienced team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a background in marine or industrial hydraulics who enjoys practical, workshop-based work with the occasional option for travel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Service, repair and maintain hydraulic systems for industrial and marine applications

  • Diagnose faults using hydraulic schematics and technical drawings

  • Carry out pressure testing, flushing, and patch testing

  • Work with hydraulic pipework, valves, and associated mechanical components

  • Attend client sites across Scotland and the wider UK on occasion (optional travel - 2 to 3 nights away every few months)

Skills & Experience Required:
  • Strong experience with hydraulic systems in an industrial or marine environment

  • Skilled in fault finding, pressure testing, and use of hand tools

  • Able to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and engineering drawings

  • Physically fit and capable of manual, hands-on work

  • Full UK driving licence is essential

  • Background in valve or hydraulic pipe manufacturing beneficial

  • Ex-military (especially Navy) backgrounds are encouraged to apply
