Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is recruiting an experienced Project Design Engineer for a full-time, permanent role based in Gateshead. The position focuses on delivering hydraulic projects from requirements through to commissioning, with a salary from £40,000 per annum depending on experience.

The role involves designing hydraulic systems, producing drawings and schematics, performing calculations, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent qualifications and experience.
• Strong problem-solving and practical engineering skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and clarify customer requirements and develop suitable engineering solutions.
• Produce engineering drawings, hydraulic schematics, and technical documentation.
• Carry out engineering calculations and select and size appropriate components.
• Prepare technical specifications and support the preparation of quotations.
• Work with suppliers and subcontractors to support successful project delivery.
• Identify and resolve technical problems throughout the design and manufacturing process.
• Support technicians and engineers during assembly, testing and commissioning.
• Improve manufacturability, reliability, and serviceability of engineering solutions.
• Ensure projects meet customer requirements, agreed timescales and financial targets.
• Produce final as-built drawings and project documentation.
• Attend the workshop and customer sites when required.
• Identify potential risks and issues early and take action to maintain project deadlines.
