Job description

Due to an increasing and diversifying workload, RPS is seeking to recruit Hydraulic Modellers to support our water quality, coastal and flood risk management business. We are open to applications from across the UK and Ireland to support our core teams working in Belfast and Scottish offices.

We’re keen to hear from all levels of experience and capability, including high performing graduates looking to work in this sector, those with experience looking to enhance and develop their capabilities, and experts with a proven track record of building, calibrating and verifying complex numerical models.

We have a long-term order book for a wide range of water companies, central and local government agencies, and private sector clients providing a diverse range of services in the river and coastal environment. Join us, where you’ll find true support and career development. With an outstanding reputation in delivering successful projects, you’ll be part of a team of industry leading experts.

About The Team:

Our specialist engineers and scientists play a market leading role in the development of national strategies, feasibility studies, and the design and delivery of water environment solutions. Applying the latest technology, innovative techniques, and extensive experience, we connect clients with the information, advice, and action they need as we plan for an uncertain future.

Experience:

  • Use of packages such as InfoWorks ICM, MIKE suite of software, Flood Modeller Pro, or other industry standard modelling packages.
  • Experience or desire to work in the design and development of water environment solutions within the specialist areas of flood risk management, water quality, integrated catchment management, and coastal processes.
  • Preferably experience working with a diverse range of UK and Republic of Ireland clients.
  • Experience in the use of ARC GIS and AutoCAD would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate with clients and other professionals.
  • Good interpersonal skills, both on an individual and team level.
  • Good work ethic and willingness to deliver as part of a team.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in a relevant field of science or engineering.
  • Chartered Membership or near Chartered for more senior posts.
