Job summary

Fusion People are recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter (Raft Fitter) for an ongoing contract based near Burton on Trent. The role focuses on fitting and repairing vehicle components, with emphasis on hydraulic systems and raft components.

Ideal candidates will be experienced HGV fitters or heavy plant fitters with hydraulic experience, able to fault find and diagnose, read schematics, and mentor trainees as required. Hours are 7am–4pm Mon–Thu and 7am–1pm Fri; 6 months minimum contract.

Qualifications

• Experience as an HGV or heavy plant fitter with hydraulic systems knowledge.
• Ability to install/repair hydraulic systems.
• Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities

• To understand vehicle mechanical interfaces and repair components.
• To install/repair hydraulic systems.
• To fault find and carry out diagnostic investigations.
• Previous engine knowledge would be advantageous.
• To overhaul raft components.
• To understand schematic drawings.
• To mentor trainees/apprentices when applicable.
• To work within a realistic timeframe.
• To ensure waste disposal is correct.
• To adhere to instructions.
• Subject to a Drugs & Alcohol test
