Hydraulic Power Services Ltd in Bolton seeks a Hydraulic Field Service Engineer to join our team, splitting time between the workshop and customer sites. You will work with experienced engineers at first, then handle your own jobs as hydraulic knowledge grows.

We offer training in hydraulic systems, a company van and tools, Monday–Friday days with overtime, and a range of benefits. No two jobs are the same in our specialist, growing company.

Qualifications

• Experience as a maintenance engineer, multi-skilled engineer, mechanical fitter, hose fitter or field service engineer.
• Some hydraulic experience (an advantage)
• Welding ability to a reasonable standard
• A full UK driving licence
• The ability to read engineering drawings
• A safe, tidy approach to work
• The confidence to deal with customers on site.

Responsibilities

• Breakdown and fault finding on hydraulic and mechanical equipment
• Servicing, repair and testing of pumps, valves, cylinders and power packs
• Workshop strip-downs, inspection and rebuilds
• Site installations and steel pipework
• Mechanical fitting, fabrication and MIG or arc welding
• Basic electrical checks
• Working from hydraulic circuit and engineering drawings
• Completing job sheets, inspection notes and failure reports

Hydraulic Field Service Engineer

Tired of fixing the same production line every shift? Hydraulic Power Services Ltd is looking for a Hydraulic Field Service Engineer to join our team in Bolton. This role suits a mechanical maintenance or service engineer who wants varied work and the chance to become one of our hydraulic systems specialist.

You don't need to be a hydraulic expert already. If you have a solid mechanical background, we will train you.

Hydraulic Power Services Ltd is a specialist hydraulic engineering company based in Bolton. We service, repair, install and design industrial hydraulic systems for customers across a wide range of industries. We are a small, experienced team with a strong reputation for technical support. No two jobs are the same.

The role

As a Hydraulic Field Service Engineer, you will split your time between our workshop and customer sites. You will work alongside experienced engineers at first, then take on your own jobs as your hydraulic knowledge grows.

Typical work includes:

• Breakdown and fault finding on hydraulic and mechanical equipment
• Servicing, repair and testing of pumps, valves, cylinders and power packs
• Workshop strip-downs, inspection and rebuilds
• Site installations and steel pipework
• Mechanical fitting, fabrication and MIG or arc welding
• Basic electrical checks
• Working from hydraulic circuit and engineering drawings
• Completing job sheets, inspection notes and failure reports

Please note that we do not offer a mobile hose repair service. This role is focused on servicing, repairing and installing hydraulic systems and components. If you have a hose fitting background and want to develop into full hydraulic system work, we would be happy to hear from you.

We are looking for a practical, reliable engineer who takes pride in doing a job properly. To succeed as a Hydraulic Field Service Engineer, you will have:

• Experience as a maintenance engineer, multi-skilled engineer, mechanical fitter, hose fitter or field service engineer
• Some hydraulic experience (an advantage, not essential)
