As a Hydraulic Expert you will provide a 24/7 modelling capability within the Control Operations environment.
Control operations is the ‘controlling mind’ of all operational activities and is integral in the Strategic movement of water and analysis and action of data alarms to ensure our customers experience a continuous supply of wholesome water.
This role will be integral in the response to events in the business and provide hydraulic solutions to support incident management, while performing ongoing validation and improvement of our modelling and hydraulic data whilst providing a short to mid term asset optimisation plan working closely with both the Network and Production desks to drive a healthy cycle of continuous improvement.
Maintain and use a suite of Business Intelligence tool including hydraulic models and asset performance software.
Provide technical guidance when operations colleagues need to modify the network in order to carry out their duties
Carry out root cause analysis following asset failures and propose site and network improvements.
Provide 24/7 (shift work) hydraulic modelling support for incident management.
Improve and validate Hydraulic data and response procedures
Deliver short/mid term Network calming plans.
Validation of DG2 metrics
Internal authors of contingency plans.
What you'll need:
Comprehensive understanding of water quality standards.
Provide expert Hydraulic advice to the business, diagnose and take corrective action.
Make recommendations to improve processes and Network management.
Apply comprehensive knowledge of hydraulics, value operation, pressure, flow and leakage monitoring/control.
Able to forecast and predict outcomes utilising data available from the network.
Makes strategic recommendations utilising data available from the network.
