Job description

About the Role:

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Site Manager will oversee daily crew management, including planning and executing works. The primary goal is to enhance performance and productivity while ensuring health and safety compliance.

Location: Bamber Bridge, Lancashire

Hours: 50 hours per week, 06:00-16:00, Monday to Friday

Salary: £38,643 per annum

Responsibilities – but not limited to:
  • Lead and motivate teams to deliver planning and operational objectives.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, on time, and in accordance with requirements.
  • Manage reporting operatives and conduct detailed site visits.
  • Maintain accurate records of resources, materials, and plant, including daily resource sheets.
  • Manage subcontractor performance.
  • Ensure operatives have appropriate vehicles, equipment, PPE, and skills.
  • Pre-site planning to determine additional requirements based on locations.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, local authorities, and third parties regarding current and future works.
  • Provide supervision, assessments, and coaching to ensure team performance standards.
  • Perform quality audits (minimum 4 onsite per month).
  • Conduct Toolbox Talks, briefings, and other communications regularly.
  • Perform weekly fleet and plant checks, ensuring maintenance and calibration are up to date.
  • Maintain personal skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
  • Comply with HSEQ and welfare policies.
  • Meet or exceed client KPIs, including for project management roles.
  • Ensure regulatory data and job specifications are accurate and feedback provided.
  • Keep training and ID records up to date, liaising with the training department.
  • Manage HR queries, ensure timesheet accuracy, and verify submissions, including telematics checks.
  • Coordinate with site teams for sales data collection.
  • Ensure drivers adhere to policies, coaching or disciplining as necessary.
  • Assess operative competencies regularly through the assessment program.
Experience and Qualifications:
  • Management skills to supervise and lead crews.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental policies and safe systems of work.
  • Operational understanding with relevant experience, qualifications, and accreditations to meet contractual, operational, and safety requirements.
