Job summary

World Class Defence Organisation is seeking a Test Design Support Engineer subcontractor for an initial 6-month contract. The role spans design and production support across advanced missile modules and subsystems, interfacing between design and manufacturing teams.

Hybrid/ onsite arrangement with some remote work; 37 hours per week; Inside IR35 umbrella. Candidates should have electronics design experience and be able to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified (or equivalent) with experience of designing product/systems and/or providing support to designs through the manufacturing phase of the product lifecycle.
• Proven experience in the design of Digital and Analogue electronics
• Power Electronics
• RF & Antenna

• Safety Electronics
• Test Systems
• Schematic design
• PCB Design
• Adherence to BS EN Standards.
• Excellent verbal communication, negotiation and influencing skills with the capability to write clear and concise engineering documentation.
• Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team, with an awareness of the challenges and opportunities that this may bring and a passion for innovation and collaboration.
• Prepared to work autonomously if needed, lead the delivery of your work assignments, and actively engage with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of your outputs.
• Manage discreet work packages preparing bids, controlling costs and delivering solutions.
• Experience in supporting manufacturing and resolving manufacturing issues is an advantage, but not essential.
• Investigative skills to be able to find Root Causes of design related issues and propose robust Corrective Actions.

Responsibilities

• Interface between design and manufacturing teams to provide knowledge and support.
• Support production design and manufacturing of advanced modules and subsystems.
• Deliver robust solutions for missile program components and launcher assemblies as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to shape product and test equipment designs from concept to production.
• Drive continuous improvement through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
