Michael Page, a Mid Kent based client, seeks a Financial Accountant to be the organisation's IFRS/UK GAAP expert and primary contact for external auditors.

You will research standards, prepare technical papers, and lead on new accounting standards while supporting continuous improvement across reporting systems and controls. This is a hybrid role with exposure to senior finance leaders.

Qualifications

• ACA qualification, or ACCA/CIMA with proven technical accounting experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP reporting requirements.
• Experience within audit, technical accounting, or financial reporting environments.
• Experience preparing or auditing consolidated financial statements within large or complex organisations.
• Experience managing external audit relationships and liaising with professional advisers.
• Advanced Excel skills and exposure to large ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to communicate complex accounting matters clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences.

Responsabilités

• Researching, interpreting, and applying IFRS and UK GAAP accounting standards to complex transactions and new initiatives.
• Preparing technical accounting papers, reviewing contracts, and advising on accounting treatments and revenue recognition policies.
• Preparing complex financial statement disclosures and supporting documentation for external audit purposes.
• Acting as the key point of contact for auditors on technical accounting matters and resolving issues.
• Leading the implementation of new accounting standards across the organisation and advising stakeholders on financial reporting implications.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across financial reporting systems, processes, and controls.
• Supporting ad-hoc technical accounting and finance projects as required.
