Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Plymouth, UK, is seeking a Systems Engineer to develop, integrate and validate complex embedded systems across hardware, software and mechanical domains. You will work with customers and stakeholders to capture system-level requirements and architecture from concept to delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Aerospace Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience as a Systems Engineer across the full development lifecycle.
• Strong requirements analysis and management skills.
• Experience in architectural design and decomposition.
• Experience creating test plans, cases and procedures and executing tests.
• Experience with requirements management tools (DOORS or Jama or similar).
• Familiarity with version control systems (SVN, Git, Teamwork Cloud).

Responsibilities

• Capture system-level use cases, concepts of operations and requirements from customers and stakeholders.
• Develop the system architecture.
• Interface with Systems, Software, Electrical and Mechanical engineering to produce component requirements.
• Support system integration for real-time embedded systems, including hardware/software interfaces.
• Ensure traceability from requirements to tests across the design.
• Develop and execute test cases and procedures against requirements.
• Apply problem-solving across software, hardware and system levels.
• Contribute to project planning, estimations and progress reporting.
