Opus People Solutions is seeking a Support Accountant for a Local Authority client in East Suffolk. The role is 37 hours per week with hybrid working (2 days on-site in Melton) and £25.00 per hour Umbrella (£19.00 PAYE), contract length 3 months.

You will support Finance Business Partners with budget monitoring, forecasting and financial reporting, and assist with year-end processes and reconciliations. Experience in Local Government and a strong Excel skillset are essential.

Qualifikationen

• Budget monitoring, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Reconciliations and year-end accounting processes.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Supporting non-finance stakeholders and communicating financial information clearly.
• AAT qualification or significant relevant finance experience.
• Previous experience within Local Government.

Aufgaben

• Support Finance Business Partners with budget monitoring, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Assist with budget setting, year-end accounts processes and reconciliations.
• Provide financial advice and support to budget holders, service managers and heads of service.
• Support revenue and capital budget management across council service areas.
• Assist with fees and charges reviews, statutory returns and financial management projects.
• Work with financial systems and Excel to analyse, monitor and report financial information.
