City of York Council is seeking an experienced Highways Asset Manager to lead a team of Asset Engineers and oversee the strategic management of York’s highways assets. You will drive long-term renewal and maintenance programmes, aligning with the York Local Transport Plan and asset management framework.

The role requires excellent communication with multiple stakeholders and the ability to manage complex programmes across active travel networks, roads, footways, drainage, and street lighting.

• Experience leading teams in highways asset management.
• Strong communication with multiple stakeholders and contractors.
• Knowledge of capital renewal and maintenance planning in highways.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and manage a team of Asset Engineers overseeing York’s highways assets.
• Develop and deliver long-term capital renewal and maintenance programmes within approved budgets.
• Collaborate with Service Area Managers to maximise efficiency and service delivery.
• Engage with framework consultancies and contractors to deliver works while ensuring CDM compliance.
