Job summary

SF Partners in Rotherham is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to lead a small finance function within a growing SME manufacturing business. The role combines day-to-day financial management with management accounting, commercial reporting and involvement in broader business decisions.

You will own the finance function, producing accurate information, driving process improvements and presenting insights to senior stakeholders to support strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Experience as Financial Controller or Finance Manager
• Strong management accounting including P&L and cash flow forecasting
• Overseeing transactional finance and higher-level reporting
• Advanced Excel and accounting software experience (Sage/QuickBooks)
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
• Organised, proactive, able to manage competing priorities
• Confident presenting financial information to senior stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of day-to-day finance function and accounting operations
• Produce monthly management accounts with P&L analysis and commentary
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor financial performance
• Create financial reports and board packs; attend board meetings as required
• Oversee purchasing and sales ledgers, invoicing and bank reconciliations
• Manage credit control, debt collection and cash management
• Maintain accurate financial records and strong controls
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting and efficiency
• Provide financial analysis to support senior management decisions
