Job summary

Kent Fire and Rescue Service is seeking a Solution Architect on an 18-month fixed-term basis within its technology and transformation workstream. You will provide technical advice and assurance on new and evolving systems, from involvement in change programmes to live operation, with hybrid working requiring at least three days in the office.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, reviewing or assuring technology solutions in complex organisations.
• Ability to implement and integrate COTS solutions with existing platforms and architectural standards.
• Experience working with procurement teams from requirements to service transition.

Responsibilities

• Advise as a technical adviser, balancing business needs, costs, timescales, security and sustainability.
• Engage stakeholders early to translate requirements into technology solutions.
• Assess proposed technologies against the current landscape and identify integration needs and risks.
• Provide assurance on security, resilience, and operational readiness.
• Identify risks and dependencies early and propose trade-off options.
• Produce clear solution designs and explain options to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers and project teams across infrastructure, applications, cyber security and operations.
• Ensure support arrangements, monitoring and lifecycle management are addressed before and after implementation.
