Job summary

PerkinElmer, Inc. seeks a Software Product Manager to own the software roadmap for its analytical instrument software line.

You will translate market needs into software requirements and prioritize backlogs, working with R&D to ensure timely delivery and alignment with hardware launches. This role requires 5–10 years in software product management within analytical instrumentation, with strong VOC capability and regulatory awareness (e.g., 21 CFR Part 11).

Qualifications

5–10 years of experience in software product management or software product marketing within analytical instrumentation.
Experience owning a software product roadmap from requirements through release with accountability for prioritisation and delivery quality.
Working knowledge of instrument software: control, data processing, and reporting workflows relevant to the product line.
Familiarity with agile product development, backlog management, sprint planning, and release management.
Experience conducting VOC to translate user feedback into actionable requirements.

Responsibilities

Own the software product roadmap for the assigned product line, prioritising features and releases against commercial opportunity and customer value.
Develop software product requirements: user stories, functional specs, acceptance criteria for R&D.
Make evidence-based trade-offs on feature scope, release timing and debt.
Own software versioning and release strategy aligned with hardware launches.
Coordinate beta customer programs and gather structured feedback before GA.
