Job summary

NaturalMotion is seeking a Senior Technical Animator to support our unannounced project. You will join the Animation Team to deliver and bring life to our characters, working two days a week at the London office and the rest remotely.

You should be an expert in skeletal pipelines, Unreal Engine animation systems, and cross-platform mobile optimization, with strong rigging and scripting skills.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of the skeletal pipeline from Rigging to export in game.
• Experience with mobile limitations for bipedal and non-bipedal characters.
• Strong understanding of animation systems in Unreal Engine.
• Ability to debug and create animation systems from scratch in engines.
• Advanced knowledge of retargeting between matching and non-matching skeletons.
• Scripting proficiency in MEL, Python, and related tools.
• Foundational rigging knowledge: bones, IK, splines, skinning, animation blueprints.
• Experience with industry rigging tools (Advanced Skeleton, Rapid Rig, mGear).

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain rigging and the technical animation pipeline.
• Help implement characters as part of the Animation Team.
• Report to the Lead Animator and Art Director.
