Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team in Cardiff. This established housebuilder seeks an experienced professional to lead procurement, budgeting and final accounts on residential developments.

The role offers a hybrid working pattern with some home working and site attendance as required, providing a path to advance within a growing commercial team.

Qualifications

• Must have experience as a Quantity Surveyor within housebuilding/residential development.
• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
• Experience managing subcontractors, procurement and project costs.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Relevant construction or quantity surveying qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial performance of residential developments from procurement through to completion.
• Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts and cost reports.
• Procurement and management of subcontractors and suppliers.
• Negotiate and agree subcontract packages.
• Monitor costs, variations and commercial risks.
• Manage valuations, payments and final accounts.
• Collaborate with site and operational teams to maximise project performance.
• Provide commercial advice and reporting to senior management.
