Job summary

Poolhall Recruitment is seeking a proactive Quantity Surveyor to own commercial performance on diverse schemes across the UK. You will manage budgets from pre-construction to handover, lead valuations, and drive cost control with NEC3/NEC4 contracts. The role supports civils and build phases and requires strong stakeholder management.

You’ll work flexibly, combining home, site visits, and occasional office days, and join a growing contractor valuing autonomy and hands-on commercial leadership.

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of multiple projects.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing project costs from pre-construction through to final account.
• Preparing, administering and managing NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
• Leading valuations, variations, cost reporting and forecasting.
• Liaising with subcontractors across specialist trades.
• Working closely with project managers and site teams to maintain financial and contractual control.
• Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and commercial targets.
• Supporting risk management, value engineering and procurement activities.
• Contributing to commercial strategy across multiple live projects.
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with company procedures.
