Job summary

Walkers is seeking a Senior Security Engineer in London with strong Microsoft, Azure, cloud and enterprise security experience. The role involves building security controls for SIEM and PKI/BYOK integrations, and configuring Defender for Cloud and Purview across a complex environment.

You will lead technical delivery, often guiding a small team, and work with IT, development and business teams to communicate risks clearly. This is a 6-month FTC with hybrid London work requirements.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on cyber security engineering experience across IT security and enterprise environments.
• Strong Azure, cloud security and hybrid environment knowledge.
• Proven ability to design, configure, implement and improve security technologies and controls.
• Experience with SIEM, security monitoring, incident response and vulnerability management.
• Ability to work independently, own deliverables and collaborate with IT, Dev and business teams.
• Clear communication and ability to explain risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Windows and Linux, and scripting in PowerShell or Python.
• Experience in a legal, financial services or regulated organisation.
• Familiarity with security frameworks and GDPR guidance.
• Experience with automation, security testing, forensics, DLP, privileged access, key management or HSM.

Responsibilities

• Build and deliver security controls supporting critical Change initiatives including SIEM and PKI/BYOK integrations.
• Configure Defender for Cloud and Purview across a complex environment.
• Provide hands-on engineering leadership and deliver technical delivery, potentially leading a small team.
• Collaborate with IT, development and business teams; communicate risks and recommendations clearly.
• Participate in incident, change and problem management; out-of-hours work for planned changes or urgent security response.
