SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide counseling services to students and their parents.
  • Participate in multi-tiered support systems for students with social/emotional and behavioral needs, including interdisciplinary meetings for diagnosis and treatment discussions.
  • Assist in initial and annual IEP development as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with families and staff during team meetings to support social and emotional development.
  • Follow federal, state, and local procedures for record keeping, eligibility documentation, timelines, and safeguards.
  • Maintain a schedule to ensure compliance with all required meetings and services.

SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's Degree in Psychology.
  • Endorsement as a School Psychologist or eligibility as prescribed by the State Department of Education.
  • Experience or training in pediatric mental health is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, ethically, and responsibly.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to coordinate activities and work effectively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
