Job summary

The University of Cambridge invites applications for the role of Deputy Secretary in the School of the Physical Sciences. This temporary cover post supports the School Secretary across strategic issues and leads the School Office's operational side, with close partnership with the Deputy Head of School for Education.

Qualifications

• Experience of staff management and managing change.
• Qualified to at least first degree level or equivalent professional experience.
• A Physical Science qualification is not required.

Responsibilities

• Support the School Secretary across strategic issues and lead the operational side of the School Office team.
• Work with the Deputy Head of School for Education on the broad Education portfolio and contribute to specific projects.
• Take forward projects in areas such as Departments collaboration, policy issues and widening participation initiatives.
