UK Power Networks is seeking a Risk & Assurance Advisor based in London. You will report to the Risk & Assurance Manager and work within the Finance directorate as a permanent employee.

Qualifications

• Experience in internal audit or related assurance, risk or compliance role.
• Degree or professional qualification in audit, risk, finance or accounting.
• Ability to plan and deliver assurance with independence, structure and attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build effective working relationships and influence constructively.
• Sound judgement, integrity and ethical working.
• Collaborative approach across Internal Audit, Enterprise Risk, Regulatory Compliance and Fraud Investigations.
• Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and turn findings into practical recommendations.
• Confidence working with senior leaders and a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead a varied portfolio of internal audit and assurance assignments, delivering clear, proportionate and high-quality outcomes.
• Assess risks and controls across the organisation and use evidence and professional judgement to agree practical recommendations.
• Produce accurate and timely information for quarterly reporting to shareholders on Risk & Assurance activity.
• Build constructive working relationships with colleagues at all levels, including senior leaders, and with external stakeholders.
• Work across the Risk & Assurance team to identify opportunities for effective and efficient integrated assurance.
• Use data analysis to strengthen assurance work and support safe use of AI.
• Explore and test new assurance techniques to improve quality, insight or efficiency.
• Communicate sensitive or complex findings clearly and confidently.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across Risk & Assurance and the wider organisation.
