Job summary

Exeter is seeking a part-time Research Ethics Officer to join a dedicated team. You will support researchers to uphold ethical standards across human and animal research, advising on governance, and working with ethics committees to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

The role offers hybrid working between campus and home, immediate start, and a pro‑rata salary of £34,630 per year for full-time equivalent. Background checks may apply.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting research ethics or in similar environments relating to principles and quality standards.
• Ability to interpret a Research Ethics Framework and governance processes.
• Willingness to develop knowledge in ethics and governance areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide assurance that research adheres to ethical principles and governance requirements.
• Support researchers in setting up complex projects and ongoing studies.
• Work with research ethics committee chairs and members to provide specialist advice.
• Contribute to guidance and resources to researchers, faculty and staff.
