Job summary

Westray Recruitment Group seeks an experienced Purchasing Lead in Harrogate for a hybrid role. You will source and procure across key categories, manage POs to align with demand, and secure supply across multiple sites.

This role requires strong supplier relationships and cost-focused negotiations to improve margins. You will collaborate with planning and category teams to align purchasing with forecasts, manage stock, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining governance standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in purchasing or procurement in a multi-site environment.
• Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
• Experience using ERP systems for purchasing and inventory management.
• Ability to work with demand plans and supply continuity.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure products across key categories (plants, trees, aggregates, landscaping materials).
• Place and manage purchase orders in line with demand plans and stock policies.
• Ensure continuity of supply across all sites, especially peak seasons.
• Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers including growers and manufacturers.
• Monitor supplier performance across cost, quality, service and reliability.
• Support contract negotiations and pricing reviews.
