Job summary

GetRecruited UK Ltd is seeking a Temporary Purchase Ledger Clerk / Accounts Assistant in Salford for a hybrid role with an immediate start. The position offers £15.40 to £17.50 per hour and potential to move to permanent.

You will handle high volumes of purchase invoices in Xero, manage supplier payments, and support month-end reconciliation while helping clear an existing backlog. The role requires strong purchase ledger experience and proficiency in Xero and Excel, with the ability to hit the

Qualifications

• Experience as Purchase Ledger Clerk, Accounts Assistant or Finance Assistant.
• High-volume invoice processing experience required.
• Proficient using Xero independently.
• Strong Excel skills including reconciliations.
• Sales ledger and month-end experience advantageous.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Process high volumes of purchase invoices using Xero, ensuring accurate coding, matching and authorisation.
• Manage the purchase ledger from invoice receipt through to supplier payment.
• Reconcile supplier statements, investigate discrepancies and resolve queries.
• Prepare supplier payment runs and ensure timely payments.
• Maintain supplier records and liaise with suppliers and internal departments.
• Record daily sales transactions and ensure accurate allocation and reconciliation.
• Clear backlog of purchase ledger transactions and support ad hoc duties.
• Complete month-end ledger reconciliations and support reporting.
• Support wider finance team as needed.
