Sellick Partnership is recruiting a Payroll Assistant for a West Midlands public sector organisation. The role is a 3-month contract on a hybrid basis with at least one day in the office each week, offering an hourly rate up to £17.24 plus holiday pay.

You will manage weekly and monthly payrolls, input data, record deductions and bonuses, and ensure statutory payments and pension contributions are correct while maintaining high accuracy and meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years payroll experience.
• GCSE mathematics or equivalent qualification.
• Experience at a similar level and knowledge of current payroll legislation.
• Familiar with statutory payments and pension contributions.

Responsabilités

• Process weekly and monthly payroll information.
• Input employee data including starters, leavers and changes.
• Record overtime, bonuses, commissions and deductions.
• Calculate sick, maternity, paternity payments.
• Check timesheets and attendance records for accuracy.
• Maintain payroll records and personnel files.
• Process pension contributions and benefit deductions.
• Respond to payroll queries and resolve discrepancies.
• Produce payroll reports for management and finance.
• Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and company policies.
• Submit payroll data to HMRC and other bodies.
• Reconcile payroll reports and fix errors before payments.
• Assist with year-end payroll activities (P60s, P11Ds).
