Job summary

NHS Supply Chain in Nottingham is seeking a Project Manager to join our Supply Chain Modernisation Programme. You’ll plan, coordinate and deliver change initiatives across the organisation, working with internal teams, service providers and stakeholders to embed sustainable improvements.

You will apply Agile and Waterfall methods, manage risks and dependencies, and build strong relationships to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery that supports our transformation goals.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering low to medium complexity projects within a wider programme.
• Understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies and governance.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and vendors.
• Competent with Microsoft Project and project management tools.
• Relevant PPM qualification or equivalent; healthcare/supply chain knowledge desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver assigned projects or workstreams end-to-end, supporting the Lead Project Manager and Programme Manager to define scope, objectives, and deliverables. Ensure delivery is achieved within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards, proactively managing risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Work collaboratively with service providers and internal NHS Supply Chain teams to support coordinated delivery across multiple partners, ensuring your projects contribute effectively to the wider Modernisation Programme.
• Apply Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies as appropriate, ensuring compliance with governance processes, maintaining accurate documentation, and providing regular progress updates to the Lead Project Manager and key stakeholders.
• Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, engaging colleagues at all levels to support delivery, manage expectations, and ensure clear and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support continuous improvement and programme alignment, contributing to lessons learned, identifying opportunities for efficiencies, and ensuring all project activity aligns with NHS Supply Chain’s strategic objectives and transformation goals.
