Qualifications

• Experience in Private Sector Housing or Environmental Health.
• Strong knowledge of housing legislation, including Housing Act 2004, and HHSRS.
• Experience carrying out property inspections and enforcement actions.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections of privately rented properties.
• Investigate complaints related to disrepair, overcrowding, and hazards.
• Enforce housing legislation including the Housing Act 2004.
• Assess and identify hazards under HHSRS.
• Prepare and serve statutory notices and enforcement actions.
• Coordinate with landlords, tenants, managing agents and stakeholders.
• Maintain records and prepare evidence for legal proceedings.
