Job summary

La Fosse is seeking a Principal Full Stack Engineer in Liverpool, with a hybrid work pattern (2 days in the office). The role focuses on rebuilding a core platform on a modern Node.js stack, driving architecture decisions, and mentoring a senior team.

You will work closely with product and leadership to shape the platform, embed AI tooling in daily workflows, and influence technical direction at scale.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building production systems in Node.js/TypeScript.
• Strong full-stack background with React/Next.js.
• Experience making architectural decisions at scale.
• Cloud experience with Azure preferred; AWS/GCP welcomed.
• Experience using AI coding tools in development.
• Senior presence with leadership and stakeholder influence.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of key parts of a brand-new platform.
• Build and own backend services, APIs and data pipelines at scale.
• Make architecture decisions that the wider team builds on.
• Stay hands-on while mentoring senior engineers.
• Partner with product and leadership on priorities and trade-offs.
• Help embed AI tooling into everyday engineering workflows.
