Job summary

Central Bedfordshire Council in the Housing Service is seeking a Planned Works Surveyor to oversee capital improvements across about 5,700+ homes, ensuring delivery in line with Decent Homes standards. Reporting to Housing Delivery Manager, you will manage contracts, quality assurance, and safety compliance while steering resources and budgets to deliver value for money.

Qualifications

• Experience in contract management and commercial awareness.
• Knowledge of financial planning, budgeting and resource allocation.
• Understanding of building pathology and safety compliance.
• Knowledge of Decent Homes standards and housing regulations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver, manage contracts and quality assurance for housing improvement workstreams.
• Support the capital investment programme to meet Decent Homes Standard.
• Ensure housing stock safety and compliance in delivery of improvements.
• Collaborate across Housing Service to achieve VFM.
