Job summary

CARERS NORTHUMBERLAND is seeking a warm and motivated Young Carer Support Worker to join our team in Ashington. You will build trusted relationships with young carers, provide a safe space to talk, and support their wellbeing and resilience through 1-to-1 and group activities in schools.

The role requires empathy, patience and resilience, with travel across Northumberland and access to your own transport. This fixed-term position is 22.5 hours per week, based at our Central Office in Ashington,

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children and young people is essential.
• Willingness to travel to meetings and events across Northumberland and access to own transport.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-to-1 support to young carers and run group activities in schools.
• Build trusted relationships with young carers and work with school staff, families and professionals.
• Help shape and develop the Young Carer Service and promote wellbeing, confidence and resilience.
