Job summary

Intact Insurance, Birmingham-based, is recruiting a Commercial Underwriter to join our Commercial Lines Underwriting team on a hybrid basis. You will underwrite and negotiate Property & Casualty business, build broker relationships, and apply pricing strategies to drive profitable growth.

You will collaborate with colleagues, contribute to process improvements, and represent the brand at broker meetings and industry events as needed. A Midlands broker network experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience of Property & Casualty from an underwriting or broker background.
• A sharp eye for detail and a head for strategy.
• Relationships with Brokers in the Midlands region would be beneficial.
• The ability to build and maintain relationships with brokers.

Responsibilities

• Underwriting and negotiating new and/or existing Property & Casualty business within your authority
• Building and maintaining excellent broker relationships through regular engagement
• Applying pricing strategies and risk assessment techniques to drive profitable growth
• Collaborating with colleagues to share insights and improve underwriting practices
• Contributing to process improvements and supporting broker team ideas
• Representing our brand at broker meeting, industry events and field visits as needed
