Job summary

Standard Life is seeking a Non-Financial Risk Manager to provide 2nd line oversight of operational risks across capital market activities, including Private Markets. You will promote robust risk governance and support the Risk Management Framework to safeguard shareholder value.

You will collaborate with Head of Operational Risk and cross-functional teams to embed effective controls, assess risks, and ensure regulatory compliance while delivering value for customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in Operational Risk, Non-Financial Risk, Internal Controls or Audit.
• Knowledge of risk governance in asset management and retirement savings.
• Ability to identify emerging risks and propose practical solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for risk oversight.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent second line oversight and challenge of operational risks and controls.
• Review risk assessments, KRIs, control testing results and emerging themes.
• Assess effectiveness of first line risk management and mitigations.
• Support risk reviews of new products, initiatives and changes.
• Partner with Origination, Portfolio Management, Asset Management and Operations for risk guidance.
• Support governance reporting, committee papers and senior management insights.
• Promote strong risk culture and escalate material risks and issues.
