Job summary

Baily Garner LLP is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join our consultancy team in Eltham, South East London. You will assist with project design, coordinate with architecture, and help deliver projects through their life cycle.

The ideal candidate holds a Mechanical Engineering degree, is Chartered or working towards, and has at least 2 years post-qualification experience in a consultancy setting. We offer hybrid working and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Relevant Mechanical Engineering Degree required.
• Chartered status or working towards it is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience in a consultancy environment.
• Associate Member of CIBSE is beneficial.
• UK residency of at least 3 years due to vetting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Engineers with project design and delivery.
• Understand client needs and regulations; design building services and keep clear project records.
• Create designs that meet regulations and company standards.
• Work with other team members on design coordination.
• Prepare specifications, drawings and schedules for mechanical services.
• Get design work checked by Senior Engineers before release.
• Conduct site surveys and assist with testing and commissioning.
• Share knowledge and help train junior colleagues.
• Assist with budget estimates, cost planning and tenders.
• Attend meetings and help prepare minutes if needed.
• Manage and carry out daily project tasks.
• Lead and manage projects and project teams to ensure successful outcomes.
