Job summary

Infinitesima in Abingdon, UK, is seeking an ambitious Mechanical Engineer to design and deliver precision mechanical assemblies for advanced semiconductor metrology systems.

You will work across R&D, electronics and software teams to create robust hardware, validate through testing, and iterate designs for reliability. Hybrid onsite/flexibility is provided, with global travel possible on occasion.

Qualifications

• Degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or 3 years relevant industry experience
• Proven experience using SolidWorks for 3D CAD, drawings, assemblies and BOMs
• Hands-on engineering development in prototype and production environments
• Excellent communicator who presents clearly and can write concise reports
• Willing to travel globally occasionally with passport validity
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team across R&D, electronics and software

Responsibilities

• Develop new mechanical solutions and features to improve product performance
• Lead the conceptualisation, design and development of mechanical systems
• Work hands-on with equipment to evaluate performance of designs
• Feed learnings into future developments and iterations
• Collaborate with engineers and scientists across disciplines
• Communicate effectively with peers and vendors
