Job summary

Hays is partnering with a Wolverhampton-based business to recruit an experienced Management Accountant for an initial 6-month assignment. The role is hands-on and could lead to a permanent opportunity for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will cover month-end close including journals, accruals, prepayments, provisions and balance sheet reconciliations, manage expenses, inventory costing, fixed assets and lease accounting, and prepare intercompany and tax journals in line with policy.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or qualified by experience (QBE).
• Experience in management accounting and month-end close processes.
• Strong accuracy, deadline-driven, and proactive in process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Handle month-end accounting, including journals, accruals, prepayments, provisions and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage expense processes and oversee inventory costing, fixed assets, and lease accounting records.
• Prepare intercompany, tax and management charge journals in line with group policies.
• Calculate key provisions (bad debt, warranty) and perform variance analysis.
• Produce and submit monthly financial data with accuracy and on time.
