Job summary

PE Global is seeking a Logistics Specialist for a permanent role in the UK. The position coordinates domestic and international movements, ensuring safe, efficient transport and alignment with delivery requirements.

Hybrid working 2-3 days in the office with sites at Portlethen near Aberdeen or Reading. The role involves planning, load optimisation, vendor liaison and continuous improvement, reporting deviations, and ensuring compliance with transport regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating domestic and/or international logistics movements.
• Good understanding of transportation planning, routing and shipment execution.
• Experience working with logistics suppliers, carriers and/or freight forwarders.
• Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities.
• Good commercial awareness, with understanding of freight costs and cost optimisation.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Experience monitoring logistics KPIs and carrier performance.
• Understanding of transport compliance and relevant regulations.
• Attention to detail when managing documentation and approvals.

Responsibilities

• Act as the logistics focal point for assigned movements and coordinate domestic and international shipments.
• Validate transport requests and delivery dates across defined regions or lanes.
• Prepare equipment load plans to maximise utilisation.
• Plan shipments and truck routes, including consolidation and backloads.
• Use planning tools to achieve competitive transportation costs with contracted rates.
• Monitor shipment execution and track cargo movements, addressing deviations with suppliers.
• Issue work orders with cost approvals prior to movements.
• Identify opportunities for network improvements and continuous improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with international transport regulations and company policies.
• Interface between Logistics and Import/Export teams for smooth coordination.
