Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a strategic Logistics Planner for our client in East London. The role focuses on optimizing transport routes, inventory management, and collaboration with carriers and internal teams to ensure efficient supply chain operations.

You'll balance on-site collaboration with remote work flexibility, leveraging logistics software and MS Excel to analyze data, forecast needs, and drive cost savings in a dynamic automotive-related environment in the Eastern Cape region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, SCM, or related field.
• 3–5 years in logistics planning, transportation or supply chain analysis.
• Proficiency in logistics planning software and TMS; strong MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Plan and optimize transportation routes and schedules for inbound and outbound logistics.
• Coordinate with carriers to negotiate rates, book shipments, and monitor transit times.
• Manage inventory levels across multiple locations to ensure availability and minimize holding costs.
• Develop forecasts for transportation needs and inventory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and company policies.
• Analyze logistics data to identify inefficiencies and recommend cost-saving measures.
• Collaborate with warehouse, procurement, and sales teams to align logistics plans with business objectives.
• Prepare reports on logistics performance, including delivery times, costs, and inventory accuracy.
• Resolve logistical issues and disruptions promptly and effectively.
• Support the implementation of new logistics technologies and process improvements.
