Job summary

Fitch Group seeks a Lead Software Engineer to drive AI-enabled full-stack applications across Ratings Technology in the UK. You will define technical vision, mentor engineers, and partner with product and analytics teams to modernize workflows and accelerate responsible AI adoption.

You will lead architecture decisions, establish standards, and deliver scalable, data-driven applications while maintaining reliability and performance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in backend services, APIs, and data-driven applications using Python.
• Hands-on React experience developing modern web applications.
• Strong experience with TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and frontend practices.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and integrating with third-party services.
• Solid understanding of OOP, data structures, algorithms, and scalable architecture.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and modern software delivery.
• AI Fluency in integrating AI-powered capabilities and related concepts.

Responsibilities

• Define technical vision and accelerate AI-enabled transformation.
• Lead through influence and mentorship across product, analytics, and tech teams.
• Champion innovation and responsible AI adoption with proofs of concept.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and architecture reviews for scalable delivery.
