Fashion & Retail Personnel Ltd seeks a Junior Garment Technologist to join a well-established fashion and retail business on a 12-month maternity cover contract. The role suits someone with around 1 year's industry experience eager to broaden technical knowledge across the product lifecycle.

You'll work across Menswear, Womenswear, Kidswear and Accessories, liaising with Far East suppliers, supporting development timelines, and helping ensure orders stay on schedule while gaining exposure to

Qualifications

• Around 1 year's experience within a fashion brand, retailer or manufacturer.
• Good understanding of garment construction
• Excellent attention to detail and organisation
• The ability to manage their own workload and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
• Confidence communicating with international suppliers
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• A Fashion/Textiles degree would be advantageous
• Adobe Illustrator experience would be beneficial

Responsibilities

• Measuring and commenting on samples, with a focus on fit, construction and workmanship
• Communicating with Far East suppliers via email and virtual meetings
• Supporting production critical paths and helping to keep orders on schedule
• Reviewing lab dips and supplier submissions
• Taking ownership of the development and production timelines for selected orders, with support from the wider technical team
• Assisting with factory audit requirements
