Job summary

Michael Page is seeking an interim management accountant for an immediate start in Bakewell. The role offers hybrid working (2 days in office) and flexible start/finish times, with a focus on producing monthly management accounts and supporting senior management.

The candidate will manage a Finance Assistant, contribute to budgets and forecasts, and ensure compliance through internal audits and statutory returns. Prior not-for-profit experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in accounting or finance.
• Experience in management accounting.
• Not-for-profit sector experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Organised and detail-oriented approach.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Maintain and reconcile management accounts records.
• Provide system support for Finance/Business Systems.
• Manage a Finance Assistant.
• Support FP&A Manager and Senior Management with financial/non-financial information.
• Evaluate impact of new activities and investments.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts with Senior Management for FP&A review.
• Assess performance, risks and opportunities against budgets/KPIs.
• Complete internal audits to ensure policy compliance.
• Handle VAT, statutory/statistical returns and assist with tax computations.
• Prepare statutory accounts and support external audits.
