Lewisham Council is seeking a Temporary Accommodation Income Officer to support vulnerable residents in sustaining their homes by leading rent collection, reducing arrears, and providing early, proactive income management. You will collaborate with Housing Benefit, DWP, Social Services, and internal teams to resolve complex cases while safeguarding residents' interests.

This role requires strong customer service, safeguarding mindset, and the ability to maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• Experience in income collection and arrears prevention is essential.
• Strong customer service and safeguarding approach.
• Ability to maintain clear records and prepare legal documents.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of rent accounts, ensuring income is maximised and arrears are tackled early.
• Represent the council in county court for possession proceedings when needed.
• Work with Housing Benefit, DWP, Social Services, Housing Options, and internal teams to resolve complex cases.
