Job summary

Bull seeks a Hybrid Hardware & Software Support Engineer to join the HPC Services team in Reading, UK. You will support large-scale Linux-based HPC infrastructures across compute, storage, and networking layers, ensuring deployment, stability, and performance.

Prior HPC experience helps, but strong Linux/infra engineers eager to grow into HPC and AI are welcome. Responsibilities include on-site technical leadership, incident handling, and collaboration with global teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field + relevant experience.
• Willingness to obtain UK DV security clearance (as required).
• Hands-on experience with Linux server environments and HPC infrastructure is highly regarded.
• Strong scripting skills in Bash and Python.
• Experience with enterprise hardware and high‑speed interconnects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and integrate HPC cluster components (compute, storage, networking).
• Perform system installation, initial configuration, and readiness checks.
• Apply patches, updates, and conduct routine maintenance.
