Job summary

Elmbridge Borough Council in Esher is seeking a Housing Solutions Support Officer to provide essential administrative, operational and customer‑facing support across homelessness, temporary accommodation, private rented sector schemes and social housing allocations.

You will work in a hybrid role, responding to high volumes of enquiries, assisting applicants with housing applications, coordinating placements, and maintaining records across multiple systems to ensure service continuity.

Qualifications

• Experience in frontline environment supporting vulnerable customers.
• Strong administrative and data-entry skills.
• Experience working in housing/homelessness services is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Act as a first point of contact for customers, landlords, and partner agencies via telephone and email.
• Support homelessness, temporary accommodation, PRS, and housing register processes.
• Assist applicants to complete housing applications and gather evidence.
• Coordinate temporary accommodation placements and monitor outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records across housing systems and ensure data integrity.
