Job summary

Dorset Council is seeking an experienced highway engineer to join the Development Team within Highways. You will contribute to delivering high-quality transport infrastructure, conduct technical reviews and inspections, and develop practical initiatives to support sustainable economic development in Dorset.

You will work in a hybrid and flexible environment, with a strong focus on professional development and collaborative work with partners to create safe, people-friendly places and sustainable

Qualifications

Experience in highway-related discipline with the ability to follow procedures and evaluate problems.
Educated to at least HNC/HND in civil engineering or a related subject; knowledge of design and construction standards, procedures and techniques.

Responsibilities

implementing the Council's Advanced Payments Code.
technical reviews and inspections.
developing innovative, practical transport initiatives to deliver transport infrastructure for sustainable economic development.
