Job summary

Evotec in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, is recruiting for a General Ledger Assistant Accountant on a 6 Month Fixed Term Contract. The role is full-time (40 hours per week) and hybrid, based in Abingdon with some flexible working patterns.

The salary is competitive with excellent company benefits. Key responsibilities include processing payments, cash allocation, fixed asset control, month-end reconciliations, intercompany recharges, VAT returns and year-end support.

Qualifications

• Experience in general ledger accounting and month-end processes.
• Knowledge of VAT returns and intercompany recharges.
• Familiarity with SOX controls and year-end procedures.
• Excellent numeric and reconciliation skills.

Responsibilities

• Processing of local and foreign payments
• Allocation of cash receipts and payments against ledgers; month end reconciliations
• Processing and controlling fixed asset accounting; month end reconcilations
• Monitoring month end accruals and prepayments; ensure complete reconciliation processes
• Examine and track intercompany recharges
• Review and post credit card and travel transactions
• Prepare VAT return
• Journal entries postings
• Assist with year end statutory financial statements
• Assist with R&D tax credits calculations and submission of claim
• Prepare month end balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with cashflow forecasting
• Adhere to SOX controls compliance
