Evotec is seeking a General Ledger Assistant Accountant on a 6-month fixed-term contract in Abingdon (Oxfordshire). This role is full-time and hybrid, supporting month-end processes and financial reporting.

• Experience with general ledger and month-end close processes.
• Ability to prepare VAT returns and reconciliations.
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Process local and foreign payments.
• Allocate cash receipts and payments; reconcile ledgers and perform month-end reconciliations.
• Handle fixed asset accounting and month-end closing tasks.
• Monitor accruals and prepayments; ensure complete reconciliation controls.
• Examine intercompany recharges and review/post credit card and travel transactions.
• Prepare VAT returns and assist with year-end statutory statements.
• Assist with R&D tax credits calculations and submission.
• Prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliations and assist cashflow forecasting.
