Job summary

Boxbar is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join our hybrid team, with a preference for candidates able to travel to our Wakefield HQ. The role is full-time and permanent, with a salary of £40,000–£50,000.

You will work across frontend and backend, taking ownership of products from concept through deployment in a live drinks tech environment. You'll collaborate with product, operations and customer success to design, build and improve customer-facing products and internal tools.

Qualifications

• Three years of commercial software development experience.
• Strong grounding in modern software engineering.
• Experience across frontend and backend development would be relevant.
• Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript, React or another modern frontend framework, and Node.js.
• Familiarity with REST API design and SQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing and maintaining modern frontend applications.
• Building and maintaining backend APIs and services.
• Taking new product features from initial concept through to deployment.
• Integrating third‑party APIs, payment providers and hardware.
• Creating scalable, reliable and maintainable software solutions.
• Writing clean, well‑tested and maintainable code.
• Participating in code reviews and technical discussions.
• Troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
• Improving system performance, reliability and security.
• Collaborating with engineering colleagues and the wider business.
