Job summary

hackajob partners with BlackRock to recruit for the Aladdin/Trading Engineering role. You will design, develop and maintain scalable web applications and backend services supporting trading operations, collaborating with traders, PMs and engineers to deliver impactful solutions.

You will mentor junior engineers, optimize data pipelines, and keep up with new technologies to ensure reliability and performance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
• 4+ years of experience as a Full Stack Engineer, preferably in trading/finance.
• Proficiency with modern web frameworks (React/Angular/Vue).
• Experience with Java (17+) and RESTful APIs; GraphQL is a plus.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases; familiarity with distributed storage.
• Knowledge of Spring Framework/Spring Boot.
• Strong communication to explain complex technical concepts.
• Experience in an enterprise environment and understanding of design patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications and backend services for trading operations.
• Collaborate with traders and product managers to define requirements and deliver solutions.
• Implement and optimize high-performance APIs, microservices, and data pipelines.
• Ensure code quality, testing, deployment, and security best practices.
• Troubleshoot issues across the full stack with a focus on reliability and efficiency.
• Continuously research and adopt new technologies to improve performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a positive team culture.
