Job summary

The Works Stores Ltd. is seeking a Financial Accountant to join our Financial Reporting team in the UK. You will deliver month-end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and statutory reporting, owning a portfolio of GL accounts and ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Hybrid working arrangement applies with 1-2 days in our Support Centre and 3-4 days working from home per week. The role supports interim and year-end reporting, audits, and process improvements while building technical accounting

Qualifications

• Three years’ experience in a financial reporting or financial accounting role.
• Experience with month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to analyse large datasets.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
• Excellent organisation and ability to prioritise workloads.

Responsibilities

• Own designated month-end accounting and reporting areas, ensuring journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate differences.
• Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting packs.
• Take ownership of balance sheet areas including accruals, prepayments, payroll and intercompany balances.
• Assist with external audits by preparing supporting documentation and responding to requests.
• Provide variance analysis and insights into financial performance.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
